The EAA Corporate Reporting Committee Initiative – Call for nominations

In July 2018, the EAA invited expressions of interest in attending a workshop to create a Corporate Reporting Committee (CRC). With a focus on ‘wider corporate reporting’ – alternatively, integrated, nonfinancial, ESG or sustainability reporting – the EAA envisages that the CRC will sit alongside, and complement, the existing Financial Reporting Standards Committee (FRSC) in bringing contributions of academic research to the standard-setting process.

With this purpose, I chaired an EAA-hosted workshop, held at the EIASM premises in Brussels on 23 October 2018. The purpose of the workshop was to draft a remit and structure for the CRC, including the identification of primary stakeholders, the committee’s activities and planned outputs. The workshop was attended by 45 EAA members and the EAA Management Committee. A summary of the productive discussions we had in Brussels about the remit of the CRC is provided here.

We are now glad to announce that we are inviting nominations for Chair and Members of the new Corporate Reporting Committee, to be created by the EAA in early 2019.

For more information about the nomination and appointment process, please refer to our call (attached below).

If EAA members have further questions, and would like to discuss the CRC with a view to a potential nomination, please feel free to contact me at: richard.barker@sbs.ox.ac.uk

The deadline for nominations is 14 January 2019. All nominations should be submitted by email to Nicole Coopman – nicole.coopman@eiasm.be
