Call for EAA 2019 Registration

!  Important announcements !

 

Members and friends of the European Accounting Association (EAA) are invited to join the 42nd Annual Congress to be held at the Aliathon Holiday Village Hotel in Paphos, Cyprus, May 29-31, 2019.

Early-bird Registration

EAA 2018 registration opened in November 2018. Early-bird fees are available until February 28, 2019. (Note: Presenters must register by the early bird deadline. The notification of acceptance will be sent by no later than February 10.)

Reduced fees and reduced membership fee for all PhD students

The EAA is pleased to announce that a reduction of 200€ will be granted to all PhD students attending the Paphos congress. To qualify for the fee reduction, PhDs will be asked to submit proof of their PhD student status during the registration.

Moreover, starting with the EAA membership 2020 (which is included in the registration fee of the Paphos congress), the membership fee for PhD students will be reduced to 20€ (excl. VAT) including a digital copy of the EAA journals and to 40€ (excl. VAT) including additionally a paper copy of the EAA journals.

Travel and Accommodation

We encourage you to register early and to book hotel accommodation as soon as possible as May is a very busy month. Please be informed that direct flights from large cities are available and ticket prices are reasonable. Both Larnaca and Paphos airports are linked to a number of European cities. The Greek airliner, Aegean Airlines, offers multiple daily flights connecting Athens and Larnaca at very reasonable prices. Paphos airport is served by a number of low cost including Ryanair and EasyJet. We advise you to search for the best travel deals and options using websites that collect flight information and combine flying routes from different airlines, such as skyscanner or Expedia.

Once in Cyprus the conference organizer can make all necessary arrangements for local transportation from the airport to your hotel. Special events @ EAA 2019

Alongside the regular conference programme, a series of other events listed below will be held prior or during the EAA 2019 congress:

  • PhD Forum (Wednesday morning)
  • IFRS Academic Workshop (Wednesday morning)
  • Classroom teaching session (Wednesday afternoon)
  • Symposia (throughout the congress)

Awards

For the first time, the EAA will grant several awards for outstanding contributions to the EAA and the Accounting community. Five winners of the following awards will be announced and prizes presented at the EAA 2019 Paphos congress:

  • Best Paper Award (EAR and AiE)
  • Best Reviewer (EAR and AiE)
  • Anthony G. Hopwood for Academic Leadership
