Research Papers and Panel Proposals
You are invited to submit your research papers addressing international accounting research topics for the 2027 International Accounting Section Midyear Meeting in Norfolk, VA at Old Dominion University on January 7-9, 2027. We also encourage you to volunteer to serve as a reviewer, discussant, and/or a moderator.
Practitioners and academics renowned worldwide will serve as our luncheon and plenary featured speakers. We also offer plenty of opportunities to network with colleagues, providing a warm and hospitable community to our members and guests.
We welcome papers on a wide variety of topics and methodologies, with a particular focus on global contexts and environments, including:
We also welcome proposals for panel sessions. For panel proposals, please describe the rationale and importance of the topic in a page or so, indicate the planned panelists, and whether you need any help from the International Accounting Section to contact the panelists. Unless otherwise stated, it will be assumed that the person submitting the panel proposal would be willing to moderate the panel. The deadline for submissions for both research papers and panel proposals is September 1, 2026 at 11:59 pm ET.
NOTE: All authors will be considered part of the pool of potential reviewers. To help us assign a paper consistent with your interests, we also ask that you complete the reviewer volunteer form while you are already logged in to the submission system. At that time, you can also volunteer to be a discussant and/or moderator. Please ask your co-authors to complete the reviewer volunteer form as well.
Volunteer Instructions
• Go to the Submission site, https://ww4.aievolution.com/aaameetings
• Login with your AAA username and password
• If you do not have an AAA username and password, the site will direct you to make one.
• Once logged in, under forms select Volunteer Form – IAS.
NOTE: All submissions will be subject to a blind review process. Therefore, submitted documents should NOT include a title page or any author identifying information.
Submitting authors will be asked to copy/paste an abstract of the paper into a form field, separately from the submitted document. Authors will be listed in the printed program in the order they are entered during the online submission process. PDF is the preferred format for paper submissions.
