The 11th annual conference of the Journal of Accounting and Public Policy (JAPP) will be held on June 9th, 2023, at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) – London (UK).
The theme of the conference will be:
Global Challenges: Accounting and Public Policy
It is undeniable that we are living in exceptional times. When the world seemed to be recovering from effects of the financial crisis, it was hit first by a global pandemic and then by the first war fought on European soil since the Second World War. Moreover, extreme climate events keep on showing that the environmental equilibrium of the planet is in danger and that the current use of resources may not be sustainable. In short, the world is facing a series of global challenges that, if not properly addressed and governed, may generate terrible consequences for humankind. In this conference, we seek to consider the role Accounting plays in the search for solutions to these challenges through the implementation of sound Public Policies.. Potential issues of interest that fit within this general theme include, but are not limited to:
– Accounting and Sustainability
– Accounting and Climate Change
– Accounting and Public Health
– Accounting and War
– Accounting and Migrations
Papers submitted to the JAPP conference will be subject to a blind review process. Papers accepted for presentation at the conference will also be considered for publication in a special theme issue of JAPP.
