SMU Campus, SingaporeThe School of Accountancy at Singapore Management University (SMU) is pleased to announce the Singapore Accounting Symposium to be held on 10 and 11 December 2026 on SMU Campus. The Symposium, jointly organized by Singapore Management University (SMU) and the National University of Singapore (NUS), is a premier platform to advance accounting research and foster innovation across the Asia-Pacific region. The symposium brings together leading scholars and practitioners to exchange ideas and contribute to the development of accounting as a globally relevant discipline.
Building on Singapore’s role as a hub for academic excellence and industry engagement, the symposium emphasizes interdisciplinary research and its implications for informed decision-making, efficient resource allocation, and sustainable value creation. The symposium particularly welcomes research that integrates accounting with economics, finance, data science, and public policy to address emerging challenges in business and society.
The keynote speaker for the 2026 symposium is Professor Mohan Venkatachalam (Duke University), incoming Senior Editor of The Accounting Review and a leading scholar pioneering research on valuation, financial communication, nonfinancial performance metrics, and corporate governance.
