The EAA Stakeholder Reporting Committee (SRC) is pleased to continue the “In Conversation with…” Webinar Series.
This session has been organized by Prof. Begoña Giner (SRC Chair) and Assoc. Prof. Joanna Krasodomska (SRC Member).
The sustainability reporting landscape in the EU and beyond is evolving rapidly. Currently, and for the first time, large public interest entities within the EU are collecting information to prepare their sustainability statements under the new ESRS, which will have to be assured at a limited assurance level. The proposed ISSA 5000 developed by the IAASB, which refers to sustainability assurance engagements, has completed the consultation phase and is anticipated to be released before the end of 2024. Work is not slowing down. EFRAG, after consulting with the public implementation guidance for the materiality assessment and value chain, announced the consultation on the two EDs on sustainability reporting standards for SMEs. Also, very recently, the IESBA presented for consultation its ED on ethics for sustainability assurance, including some changes to the Code. This “In Conversation with…” session aims to present and discuss the implications of these and other recent developments in sustainability reporting and assurance.
