Welcome message from EAA President

With well over 2,000 members from across Europe and around the world, for almost 50 years, the European Accounting Association (EAA) has helped develop and support a rich and diverse community of accounting scholars in producing and disseminating high-quality accounting research, sharing best practices in accounting education, and creating opportunities for academics to interact among them and with and regulators. EAA activities take place through various means (EAA Events Overview – EAA), such as our annual congress (EAA Annual Congress – EAA), our EAA journals (European Accounting Review and Accounting in Europe) and their annual conferences, as well as many other physical and virtual meetings, seminars, workshops, conferences and other activities. Many resources from our events are made available to our members on the Accounting Resources Centre (ARC). We have a special interest in promoting and helping PhD students and junior academics (for examples, see the PhD corner on the ARC  and the EAA Talent Workshop).

Our governance structure has space for many volunteers to participate (Corporate Governance Structure – EAA), share ideas, innovate, and take initiatives related to the extensive number of topics within our discipline.

We encourage new members to join us (EAA Membership – EAA) and get involved. Do not hesitate to contact the EAA executive officer (Baha DIYAROV) or the Board representative of your country/region (Board – EAA ) for further information. We will keep you informed of our activities on the website and through our Newsletter (EAA Newsletter – EAA) and via social media.

Sincerely,

Araceli Mora

President of the EAA (2025-2027)
